JV Ties/Varsity Has Its First Loss

Missing a couple key starters due to injury the Varsity team competed well with Kingwood in the early part of the game.  In the end our short bench made for tired legs and led to mistakes in our first loss of the season.  The final score was 14-6.  For the second straight game JV went into overtime, ending in a 1-1 tie.

JV Wins in OT 12-11/Varsity Wins 11-8 Over Friendswood

The defense played strong and withstood a couple of sustained possessions by Friendswood as Seven Lakes' Varsity team moved to 2-0 on the young season with an 11-8 victory.  After going up early 2-0 Seven Lakes let Friendswood back in the game and was down at one point.  However the offense looked comfortable and went on a 7 goal run from the end of the second quarter through the third quarter to help seal the victory.  Leading the offense were Mason Prey with 5 goals and Jack Weithman with 3 goals.  Mace Knight-Turcan with 2 goals and Matt Minnick with one also contributed for Seven Lakes.  This is the second straight game Seven Lakes started a freshman goalie and the second straight game the freshman goalie got his first Varsity win as Christian Suh was strong in the crease.  He made some clutch saves early in the fourth quarter to help seal the victory.

The JV game was exciting as Seven Lakes won 12-11 in overtime on a goal by Jack Rotta.  The team played much stronger this week and showed resilience after allowing Friendswood to tie the game with two goals late in the game.

Seven Lakes faces Kingwood in its next high school lacrosse games on Friday February 5 at Rhodes Stadium.  JV plays at 6 PM and Varsity plays at 8 PM.

Playing in it's first ever home game hosted at Katy ISD's Jack Rhodes Stadium, the Varsity team was victorious with a 13-7 win over Klein.  There is room for improvement in many areas of our game however it was good to get an early season win.  Dante Pasqualoni was dominant at the face off X and the offense also showed it was able to score.  Scoring goals for Seven Lakes were Matt Morales (5), Mace Knight-Turcan (3), Vaughn Pelletier (2), Jack Weithman (2) and Caleb Cole.

Earlier in the evening JV dropped their game 4-1.  Trey Udovich scored the lone goal.  Next games are Friday night against Friendswood.  We host again at Rhodes Stadium.  JV plays at 6 PM and Varsity plays at 8 PM.
